This workshop is for non-profit leaders who want to see opportunities present in this time

Description - Social isolation has thrown a wrench into our plans.  We’re unable to gather in person for meetings, we’ve had to cancel our events or make them virtual, and we aren’t allowed to meet with our donors, users, and partners.

 

But despite all that, this moment presents amazing opportunities to invite people more deeply into relationship with our nonprofits.  We just need to identify what those opportunities are and figure out how to optimize them. 

Join us on the Zoom video platform for a one-hour exploration of concrete steps you can take immediately – with the money and resources you already have right now – to strengthen the bonds between your key stakeholders and your work.  You’ll leave with fresh ideas about how to engage your leaders and supporters so they’ll feel like insiders who want to invest in your mission.

By the end of the session, you will:

·    Feel connected with other nonprofit leaders who share your struggles

·    Recognize the deeper reasons why it’s important to connect with key stakeholders

·    Have at least 3 concrete things you can do to engage people without spending money

·    Experience fresh sense of what's possible for meaningful virtual engagement

Susan Howlett has more than four decades worth of experience in the nonprofit sector, having served on boards, and as both a development director and executive director. She has also been a consultant thousands of nonprofits across the continent. 

Susan is the author of two award-winning books – Getting Funded and Boards on Fire. She has been lead faculty in a year-long fundraising program at the University of Washington since 1990, and speaks frequently, often keynoting regional or national conferences.

David Westerlund is the founder of Be Present Discover Joy Consulting.  He delights in listening to the aspirations of leaders and helping them unlock the latent resources of their teams and organizations by catalyzing their collaborative capacity. His work centers around building increasing engagement and innovation, leading to resilient, supportive, joyful, and agile workplace cultures that allow organizations to have greater momentum and impact towards their mission. He facilitates interactive, highly-engaging retreats both in-person and virtually.  He is a systems thinker, who is relationally adept, and sees the power in small changes making a big difference. David draws upon Applied Improvisation, Liberating Structures, and Virtual Facilitation tools to design engaging sessions, both virtually and in-person.

They are both known for leading highly engaging sessions filled with simple solutions to complex problems, presented with humor, stories, and interaction.
